Cruise control in a scooter: OLA S1 Pro launched

Ola S1 Pro launched with a range of 135 km and a top speed of 115km/h. The Ex-Showroom price is ₹1,39,999.

Ola Electric launched its first product, an electric scooter- the Ola S1 Pro in India. It is available in two variants- the S1 and S1 Pro.

The S1 model costs ₹99,999 and comes in 5 different colours, while the S1 Pro model costs ₹1,39,999 and is available in 10 vibrant colours.

Reservations of this scooter is going on for just ₹499. Purchase of the Ola S1 starts from 8th September, and delivery will commence from October 2021. 

Ola Electric will produce this scooter in their Future factory in Tamil Nadu. The company claims that this factory is the biggest building in India. At its full capacity, they can produce one crore scooters per year

The Ola S1 has a very fluid design. It is available in 10 vivid colours with glossy and matte finish. Different colours include Anthracite, Coral red, Marshmallow, Jet black, Liquid silver, Porcelain white, Neo blue, Millennial pink, Midnight blue, and Matte black.

This electric scooter has a boot space of 36L, which is the largest in its class. 

The LED headlamp also has a unique design.

The Ola S1 also gets alloy wheels, Monocolored panels, and enclosed suspension.

This scooter is also very comfortable for the pillion as they get Grab rails, sidestep, and a sculpted seat for comfort.

The low centre of gravity makes it the most stable vehicle in its class.

The motor of this scooter has a peak power of 8.5kW and a peak torque of 58Nm. This scooter has three riding modes- NormalSports, and Hyper

In the hyper mode, the scooter achieves the highest speed of 115 km/h.

The S1 Pro has a top speed of 115 km/h, and the S1 has a top speed of 90 km/h

The in-house designed motor gives it a quick acceleration of 0 to 40km/h in just 3 seconds in S1 Pro and 3.6 seconds in S1

Battery, Range, & Charging

The Lithium-Ion battery in this scooter has a capacity of 3.92kWh. This battery provides a range of 181 km in the S1 pro model and 121 km in the S1 model

Charging the scooter at home takes around 6 hours. You will also get a fast charging option at the Ola Hypercharger, where it will charge 50% of the battery in just 18 minutes

You also get the Reverse mode and Hill hold option.

Cruise Control

The feature that makes it different from all other scooters is the Cruise Control

The Ola S1 is the only scooter to have cruise control. 

You can activate the cruise control with just a press of a button. It will maintain the speed you choose with no throttle input, whether going up a hill or down a slope

Technology

The Ola S1 has lots of Digital technology in it. 

To begin with, Ola built an entirely new Operating System called the Move OS for the Ola S1. 

To operate the Move OS, you get a 7-inch touchscreen display. The company claims that it is the sharpest and brightest screen ever put in a scooter.

The computer in the scooter is designed by Ola. A 1.8 GHz octa-core processor with 3 GB ram powers this computer. It also has a 4GWi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity

Sensors

The Ola S1 comes without a key. It has smart onboard sensors which communicate with your phone to unlock as you approach and lock when you walk away. You can also use the screen of the scooter to lock or unlock it. 

Moods, Widgets, and Profile in the Ola S1 Pro

To make the ride more interesting, the company has introduced different moods. Moods change the entire riding experience including, look, feel, and scooter sound. 

Some of the mood presets are Bolt, Care, Vintage, etc. All these different moods have different sounds also. You can make your scooter sound just the way you like or even go completely silent

The display is customizable. You can include different widgets on the screen.

All these works even in offline mode.

Different riders can make varying profiles for them. Various profile features ensure the safety of riders like area limit, time fence, speed limit, mode restriction, live location tracking, etc.

Voice Controls

The Ola S1 is powered by a multi-microphone array and AI speech recognition algorithms. So, just like a mobile phone, you can control the Ola S1 with your voice commands. Just say ‘Hey Ola‘ to give commands like play music, increase the volume, send messages or pick up calls.

The Ola S1 has Built-in speakers. You can play some music on the go.

Reservation of the OLA S1 is going on. You can reserve it for just ₹499.Purchase starts from 8th September, and delivery begins from October.

In States which give subsidy to EVs, the price is lesser than this.

EMI options are starting from as low as ₹2,999.
