Tata Motors rolls out the 50000th electric vehicle from its Pune facility.

Tata Motors rolled out a Nexon EV Max and celebrated the production milestone of 50,000 EVs. The company plans to launch 10 EVs in the next 5 years.

Tata Motors has rolled out the 50,000th electric vehicle from its manufacturing plant in Pune. The company today rolled out a Nexon EV Max and celebrated this milestone.

Tata Motors launched its first EV, the Nexon EV, in January 2020. The Nexon EV is the best-selling electric vehicle in India. The company has sold over 22,000 Nexon EVs till now.

Besides the Nexon EV, the company also has Nexon EV Max, Tigor EV, XPres T EV, and the newly launched Tiago EV in its portfolio. Nexon EV Max is the flagship product of the company. This electric SUV has a battery pack of 40.5kWh and provides an ARAI-certified range of 437 km.

Tata also has an electric compact sedan in its portfolio called Tigor EV. This electric sedan has a 26kWh Li-Ion battery and an ARAI-certified range of 306km. Tata also launched an EV brand called XPres for fleet operators. XPRES T EV is the first vehicle of the XPRES brand. This EV is also in huge demand. The company has received multiple orders from ride-hailing companies like EC Wheels, Evera Cabs, and BluSmart.

Tata Motors recently launched its most affordable EV in India, Tiago EV, at a special introductory price, starting from ₹8.49 Lakh. Tiago EV will be available in two battery variants, 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. The claimed range of the model with a 19.2 kWh battery is 250 km, and the claimed range of the 24 kWh battery variant is 315 km.

All electric vehicles of Tata Motors are powered by the high-voltage Ziptron architecture. The company has tested this architecture for over 450 million km across diverse and challenging Indian terrains.

Going forward, Tata Motors is focusing on a three-phased architecture approach for EVs and plans to launch 10 EVs in 5 years.
