All new electric version of the Mercedes S Class- the Mercedes EQS

Mercedes finally launched their much-awaited electric luxury sedan- Mercedes EQS. It comes in two variants- EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC.

Mercedes finally launched their first all-electric luxury sedan- Mercedes EQS. 

It is the electric version of the luxurious S-Class. Mercedes EQS is currently the world’s most aerodynamic production car with a drag coefficient of just 0.20Cd. 

The Mercedes EQS is available in two variants- EQS 450+ and EQS 580 4MATIC. 

The EQS 450+ model will have a power output of 265kW (355 hp), while the EQS 580 4MATIC version will have a power output of 515hp.

Both the variants will achieve a range of 770km on a single charge. 

Mercedes EQS Specs

The EQS has a Li-Ion battery with a total capacity of 108kWh. The battery software is developed by Mercedes itself, which enables technological OTA updates. With the help of OTA updates, the energy management of the eqs will remain up to date in the future.

Driving the EQS is one of a kind experience because of the silent environment inside the car. The quietness while driving the EQS is made possible by the intelligent design and construction of the electric powertrain. In fact, Silence as luxury is the guiding principle of the eqs.

In the EQS 450+, 0-100 km/h speed is achievable in 6.2seconds and in the 580 4MATIC version in just 4.3seconds. 

The top speed is 210km/h.

With a DC fast charger, you can charge the battery in just 30 minutes. At home, the 240V charger will take 11 hours for a complete recharge.

It also comes with the bi-directional charging function, which allows passing the energy of the battery to another car or your house in case of emergency.

Mercedes EQS Interiors

The interior of the car is super luxurious. The seats are tailor-made, and it comes with lots of adjustment options. The ergonomic design and side cushions provide a perfect seating position. The massage effects on the seats give extra comfort on long journeys.

The indoor of this car has the new HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) fine dust filter. It has a filter performance of up to 99.65% that cleans the incoming air and neutralise unpleasant odours. 

The most eye-catching feature of this car is the MBUX Hyperscreen. It is a 56-inch hyperscreen that covers the whole front seat. It has 3 OLED displays with 8 CPU cores and 24 GB of RAM. 

You will experience the MBUX augmented reality head-up display in this car. 

Price or the EQS is not revealed. The expectations are that the price will start from $110,000.
It will go on sale from the mid of this year.
