Triton EV enters hydrogen-powered vehicle market with manufacturing of trucks in Bhuj, Gujarat.

Triton EV becomes the first Indian company to manufacture hydrogen-powered vehicles for both Indian and international markets, with a focus on reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting a cleaner environment.

Triton EV announced today that it would begin manufacturing hydrogen-powered trucks from its Bhuj, Gujarat manufacturing plant. These hybrid heavy vehicles will be designed for both the Indian and international markets, making Triton the first Indian company to enter this category.

According to the company, the trucks will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including fuel cell systems, which will provide a clean and sustainable source of power for the vehicles. The company’s goal is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote a cleaner environment.

In August 2022, Triton Electric Vehicle made a significant announcement regarding its entry into the hydrogen-powered vehicle market. The company announced plans to manufacture Triton Hydrogen-Run Two-Wheelers and Triton Hydrogen Busses, marking a major step towards sustainable transportation. Triton has made it clear that these hybrid hydrogen-powered vehicles will be a top priority for the company, as it looks to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote a cleaner environment.

Hybrid engines that utilize hydrogen fuel cells in conjunction with electric motors provide a unique driving experience. The electric motor’s high torque output is combined with the energy density and range of hydrogen fuel. This creates a smooth and responsive driving experience, unlike traditional combustion engines that rely on gears to produce torque which can be less smooth.

Furthermore, the electric motor in a hybrid system can act as a generator to recharge the battery while the vehicle is slowing down. This feature makes the overall torque performance even more efficient. The combination of hydrogen fuel cells and electric motors in hybrid engines is a promising technology that offers a sustainable and efficient driving experience.

Triton is also developing Hydrogen Fuel Scooters for the Indian market. The company has its R&D centre in Kheda, Anand, Gujarat, near Ahmedabad.

Himanshu Patel, Founder and Managing Director of Triton EV, said: We are excited to work on ensuring clean mobility technologies. In this journey, our introduction of Hydrogen Fuel Powered Trucks is a great milestone. This product not only shows our commitment to a clean environment but also ensures a great acknowledgment for India’s global leadership in advanced automotive with clean fuel efficiencies.
