India's first new mobility-focused cluster, Telangana Mobility Valley, announced at the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week.

Telangana Mobility Valley aims to attract investments worth ₹50,000 crores and create over 4 lakh jobs in the e-mobility sector in the next five years.

In a landmark move, Telangana has announced the launch of India’s first new mobility-focused cluster, Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV), at the Mobility Next Hyderabad Summit. This initiative is a part of the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week and aims to further drive the growth of sustainable mobility in India.

Telangana Mobility Valley aims to establish best-in-class infrastructure, positioning Telangana as the most attractive destination for both manufacturing and research & development in the electric mobility sector.

TMV has set a bold target of attracting investments worth ₹50,000 crores and creating over 4 lakh jobs in the next five years. The cluster will provide a supportive ecosystem for companies in the fields of electrification, connected and autonomous vehicles, shared mobility, and last-mile logistics to collaborate and drive innovation.

The Telangana Government is taking a major step in advancing sustainable mobility by developing four mega clusters in and around Hyderabad. These clusters will provide state-of-the-art infrastructure to support the growth of the electric vehicle and energy storage system (ESS) industries.

The four mega clusters are:

  • EV Manufacturing cluster in Zaheerabad
  • EV Manufacturing cluster in Seetharampur
  • Energy Storage System cluster in Divitipally
  • Innovation cluster in Yenkathala

These clusters will reduce the cost of operations for their tenants, allowing companies to focus on innovation and growth.

The Telangana Mobility Valley aims to foster growth across the sustainable mobility sector, including electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, four-wheelers, advanced cell chemistry and hydrogen fuel cells, tier 1 and tier 2 component manufacturers, and auto engineering research & development companies.

TMV is set to receive the first phase of investments worth over ₹3,000 crores in the next 2 weeks. These investments will strengthen the electric three-wheeler, electric two-wheeler, and charging equipment manufacturing ecosystems in Telangana.

During the first edition of the Mobility Next Hyderabad Summit, the Telangana State announced three critical MoUs aimed at advancing sustainable mobility in the region. These agreements include:

  • ATS-TUV Rheinland MoU with the Telangana Government
  • Bosch Global Software Technologies MoU with BITS Hyderabad
  • Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge’s (TASK) MoU with Shell

The MoUs will provide access to funding, infrastructure, and talent, allowing companies to focus on their core business and achieve their full potential.

The first edition of the Mobility Next Hyderabad Summit brought together government officials, academics, and leading industry experts to discuss the future of sustainable mobility in India. The summit saw participation from key players in the industry, including Kamal Bali, President and MD, Volvo Group India, Nikolaus Lang, Sr. Partner & MD, Global Leader- Global Advantage Practice, BCG, Prabhjeet Singh, President, Uber India & South Asia, Shrikant Sinha, CEO, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge ‐ TASK, Suman Mishra, CEO, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Division, Dirk Adamczyk, SVP, Engineering Solutions ZF Friedrichshafen AG, Mamatha Chamarthi, SVP Business & Product Management, Stellantis, and Dr. Amaresh Chakrabarti, Chair, Centre for Product Design & Manufacturing, Indian Institute of Science, among others.
