Youtuber Sahil Khanna shares his bad experience with the MG ZS EV.

Sahil Khanna bought the MG ZS EV one year ago and has driven the car for 4,197 km. In just one year, he faced problems related to battery, motor, and after-sales service.

The creator of the YouTube channel Intellectual Indies, Sahil Khanna, recently uploaded a video on his channel, sharing his bad experiences with his electric car, MG ZS EV. In the video, he shared that both the battery and the motor of the car are of poor quality, as he is not getting the range company claims, and the motor also stopped working in just 4000km of driving.

YouTuber Sahil Khanna bought the MG ZS EV one year ago for ₹26 lakhs. In just one year, he faced problems related to battery, motor, and after-sales service.

The MG ZS EV has a 50.3 kWh Li-ion battery, and the company claims a range of 461 km with a fully charged battery. But Sahil Khanna shared in his video that he gets a range of 260km in economy mode.

We know that the range companies show is what they get in ideal conditions. In the real world, it is not possible to get that much range. But in this case, there is a huge difference of 200km between the claimed range and the real-world range.

He was facing the battery and the range problem from the beginning. But recently, the motor also started showing errors. The Youtuber shared the whole story about the motor errors and his bad experiences with the MG India servicing team in the video.

One day his car started making noise from the front side. He went for the servicing and asked them to resolve the noise issue. But the MG team returned the vehicle without solving the noise issue. He complained again, but the servicing team returned the vehicle for the second time without solving the issue.

Two days after this incident, the EV completely stopped working, and he was unable to start the vehicle. He was getting “Motor Fault” error message on the dashboard. He contacted the servicing team, but no one came to pick up the vehicle that day. After two days, the RSA picked up the vehicle from his home.

After a day, the servicing team informed Sahil Khanna that the motor was not working properly. They told him that the EV was mishandled in some ways, which caused this issue.

In just 4,197km of driving the EV, he faced problems related to both the battery and motor, which are the main components of an EV. The Youtuber is not satisfied with the after-sales service as well.

Spreading EV awareness and the incentives by the government won’t increase EV adoption in the country. EV companies have to come up with better products and good quality components in those products for the rapid expansion of EVs. The after-sales service also matters a lot. Companies with poor service won’t gain the customer’s trust. As in this case, the Youtuber Sahil Khanna feels completely stuck.

He is so pissed off that at the end of the video, he demanded the MG team to either give him a new unit of MG ZS EV or return his money. He is even ready to go to the consumer court and asked his viewers for help.
