Tesla deliveries fall in Q2, two-year-long run of record deliveries ends.

In June 2022, Tesla produced the most cars in its history. But the lockdown in China affected the production and supply chain.

Tesla released its quarterly delivery details. In Q2 2022, Tesla delivered 254,695 cars, 17.9% less than Q1’22. In the previous quarter, it delivered 310,048 vehicles.

With the fall in deliveries, Tesla’s nearly two-year-long run of record quarterly deliveries ended. The automaker has posted record deliveries every quarter since the third quarter of 2020.

The reason for the fall in deliveries is China’s COVID-19 lockdown, which forced Tesla to stop production at its Shanghai factory temporarily. The lockdown also affected the supply chain.

In Q2 2022, the combined deliveries of Model 3 & Y are 238,553, and the combined Model S and Model X deliveries are 16,162.

Now, after the ease of lockdown, Tesla is increasing its production at the Shanghai factory. It will definitely boost deliveries in the next quarter.

June 2022 was the highest vehicle production month in the company’s history, said Tesla in a press release. Also, in June, Tesla increased car prices in the US and China.
