Simple Energy, a Bangalore-based electric vehicle start-up, announced that the deliveries of their electric scooter, Simple ONE, will finally begin from May 23rd, 2023. Suhas Rajkumar, CEO of Simple Energy, announced the news on Twitter. This news comes after two delays in delivery, which were originally scheduled for June 2022 and then moved to September 2022.

Simple Energy started production of the Simple ONE electric scooter in January 2023 at their manufacturing plant named “Simple Vision 1.0,” located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The plant is spread across 2,00,000 sq ft and has the capacity to produce 10 lakh electric scooters annually. The company invested over ₹100 crores in building the manufacturing plant. To ramp up production, the company raised ₹165 crores in February 2023.

The Simple ONE electric scooter has received more than 1 lakh bookings since its launch in August 2021. The scooter comes in two variants: the standard variant priced at ₹1,09,999 (ex-showroom) with a range of 203km, and the long-range variant priced at ₹1,44,999 (ex-showroom) with a range of over 300km in ideal conditions.

One of the standout features of the scooter is its 8.5kW motor, which was developed in-house by the company. With a 96% efficiency rate and peak torque of 72Nm, the motor provides explosive acceleration, allowing the scooter to reach 0-40 km/h in just 2.77 seconds. This makes Simple ONE the quickest scooter available on the market.

The Simple One electric scooter is a technologically advanced vehicle, equipped with a variety of smart features such as 4G connectivity, Bluetooth, OTA updates, music, and call controls, an SOS message feature, geo-fencing, document storage, remote telemetry, fast charger location, and TPMS. These features can all be easily accessed through the scooter’s 7-inch touchscreen display.
