September 2022 Electric two wheeler sales; Record-breaking monthly sales for Ather.

Ola Electric and Ather registered a high jump in their electric two-wheeler monthly sales in September 2022, while deliveries of Hero Electric declined.

Electric two wheelers sales and demand in India are increasing rapidly. In September 2022, the electric two wheeler sales crossed the 50,000 mark. The competition is getting tougher as new companies are entering the market and existing companies are launching new products.

The world’s biggest two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp is also entering the EV two-wheeler market with its sub-brand Vida. Vida is all set to unveil the first electric scooter on October 7. Hero’s large dealership network will help Vida gain market share in a short time.

A total of 52,957 electric two-wheelers were sold in September 2022.

Ola Electric retained the first spot in the retail sales list. In September 2022, the company delivered 9,616 units of S1 and S1 Pro e-scooters. Last month Ola started the deliveries of the lower variant scooter S1, which increased Ola’s deliveries. S1 is the more affordable variant. The ex-showroom price is ₹99,999. Ola is also offering a festive season discount of ₹10,000 on the S1 Pro.

Okinawa and Hero Electric are at number 2 and 3 on the sales list, with 8,277 and 8,017 deliveries, respectively. These two companies have constantly maintained the top 3 positions in the retail sales list this year. It will be exciting to see if Vida’s entry will affect their sales or not.

Ather broke its last month’s sales record and registered its highest ever monthly sales figures in September 2022. Ather delivered 7,435 electric scooters.

The recently launched Gen 3 450X is in huge demand. It comes with a higher range than the old 450X and some new features. Ather is also increasing its dealership network across the country rapidly. The company is opening multiple offline stores in tier 1 & 2 cities. Ather is also partnering with Flipkart

to sell its electric scooter online. This will also increase the sales of the company.

In September, Ampere sold 6,189 e-scooters and is in 5th position on the sales list. Sales of TVS declined. The company managed to sell 3,932 units of iQube electric scooters.

Bajaj and Revolt delivered 2,577 and 836 electric two wheelers in September, respectively.

Bounce Infinity managed to sell 629 scooters, and Pune-based electric bike maker Tork Motors delivered 48 bikes.
