Pure EV completes 50,000 electric scooter deliveries.

In FY'22, Pure EV sold 14,862 electric scooters and was at no.5 on the retail sales list.

Indian electric two-wheeler company Pure EV has completed more than 50,000 electric scooter deliveries across India.
Pure EV was founded in 2018 by Dr. Nishanth Dongari and Rohit Vadera, both from IIT Bombay. Pure EV is the electric vehicle vertical of PuREnergy. The production unit of the company is in Hyderabad. The company has access to all the R&D facilities from IIT Hyderabad.
The company has three products in the Indian electric two-wheeler market ePluto 7G, eTrance Neo, and eTryst 350(e-bike). The ePluto 7G is their best-selling product.

Pure EV sales

In FY’22, Pure EV sold 14,862 electric scooters and was at no.5 on the retail sales list, below Hero Electric, Okinawa, Ampere, and Ather.

In March and April 2022, the sales number were 2,066 and 1,756, respectively.

Pure EV electric scooter fire cases

Recently, Pure EV got into controversy when many of its electric scooters caught fire. They recalled 2,000 electric scooters after the fire incidents.

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), which is part of the Union Consumer Affairs Ministry, issued notices to Pure EV regarding the fire incidents. After government investigation, experts found defects in battery cells as well as the battery design of Pure EV scooters.
