Electric car sales June 2022; Tata Motors at the top with 87% market share.

Electric car sales in June 2022 increased by 303% YoY. A total of 3089 electric passenger vehicles were sold in June 2022, while in June last year, the number was just 766. Electric car sales also increased by 8% MoM. In May’22, the sales figure was 2,855.

Tata Motors is ruling the electric passenger vehicle segment. Out of 3089 total sales, 2709 electric cars are from Tata Motors only. The Tata Nexon EV is the highest-sold electric car in India right now.

After seeing the increasing demand for the Nexon EV, Tata Motors launched the long-range version, Nexon EV Max. Tata also has Tigor EV and Xpres T EV in its electric car portfolio.

MG Motor India is at number 2. 232 units of the MG ZS EV were sold in June. Hyundai is in the 3rd position. It sold 52 units of the KONA Electric car.

Chinese company BYD is at number 4, and Mahindra is at number 5, with 48 and 20 units, respectively.
