Audi Brussels Reaches Remarkable Milestone: 200,000 All-Electric Audi Models Produced.

The CO₂-neutral Audi plant in Brussels has produced the Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron electric SUV model since December 2022.

Audi Brussels, the pioneering electric vehicle production facility, proudly celebrates the production of its 200,000th all-electric model today. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the plant, which has been manufacturing the Q8 e-tron and the Q8 Sportback e-tron, the flagship electric SUVs of the renowned Audi Group, since December 2022.

The spotlight shines on a Q8 Sportback e-tron in the captivating shade of Soneira Red, poised to be delivered to eager customers across Europe. This remarkable accomplishment underscores Audi Brussels’ commitment to sustainable mobility and positions the plant as a leader in the transition towards a greener future.

Audi Brussels, renowned for being the birthplace of Audi’s first fully electric model, the e-tron, continues to make significant strides in the electric vehicle market. With the production of the Q8 e-tron and Q8 Sportback e-tron, the facility solidifies its position as a vital contributor to Audi’s electric vehicle lineup.

One of the notable achievements of the Brussels plant is its status as the world’s first CO₂-neutral large-scale production facility in the premium segment, certified by independent experts. This accolade highlights the plant’s unwavering dedication to environmental responsibility.

The facility’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its expansive photovoltaic site, covering an impressive 107,000 square meters. This solar installation enables the plant to save approximately 1,881 tons of CO₂ emissions, setting an example for other manufacturing facilities worldwide. Moreover, the solar panels generate approximately 9,000 megawatt hours of renewable energy annually, which is equivalent to the energy required to charge 90,000 Audi Q8 e-tron vehicles.

Looking ahead, Audi Brussels is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio even further. In the second half of 2023, the plant will commence assembly of the Audi Q4 e-tron, joining its production counterpart in Zwickau, Germany.
