Volvo reveals EX90, a seven-seater all-electric SUV.

The Volvo EX90 is powered by a 111 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 600 km. It comes with dual motors that generate 380 kW (517 hp) and 910 Nm of torque.

Volvo has revealed a new seven-seater all-electric SUV, the EX90. Volvo revealed the car today in downtown Stockholm, Sweden. The EX90 will be built in the USA starting next year and later also in China. Volvo also announced that they would reveal one new fully electric car each year, and by 2030 the company will sell only fully electric cars.

The Volvo EX90 is powered by a 111 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 600 km. It comes with two permanent magnet electric motors that generate 380 kW (517 hp) and 910 Nm of torque.

Just like every other Volvo car, the EX90 comes with tons of safety features. State-of-the-art sensors like cameras, radars, and lidar are connected to the car’s high-performance core computers, where NVIDIA DRIVE runs Volvo Cars’ in-house software to create a real-time, 360-degree view of the world.

The Luminar lidar in the car can sense the road in front, whether it’s day or night, and also at highway speeds. It can see small objects hundreds of meters ahead, creating more time to inform, act and avoid. The sensors also contribute to improving the reliability and overall performance of the assisted driving function Pilot Assist, with new steering support while changing lanes. The car also has special sensors and cameras inside, which detect if the driver is distracted, drowsy, or otherwise inattentive, and alerts. The Volvo EX90 is designed to safely stop and call for help if the driver falls asleep.

A core system – powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AI platforms Xavier and Orin, Snapdragon® Cockpit Platforms from Qualcomm Technologies, and in-house developed software by Volvo engineers – runs most of the core functions inside the car, from safety and infotainment to battery management.

The 14.5-inch infotainment screen comes with Google built-in. Google apps and services, including hands-free help from Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation, and apps on Google Play all come built-in. It will also be compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

The Volvo EX90 will be the first Volvo car to feature Dolby Atmos, which will be delivered by a Bowers & Wilkins audio system featuring 25 speakers. The car will also come with phone key technology as standard. The smartphone serves as the car key and automatically unlocks the car. Your profile will also be loaded automatically as you enter the car.
