Tesla launches Model 3 and Model Y in Thailand.

Tesla has started taking orders for the Model 3 and Y in Thailand through a new configurator, and the deliveries are expected to start early next year.

Tesla has officially launched its Model 3 and Model Y EVs in Thailand. The company organized an event in a mall in Bangkok to unveil the cars. Tesla has also started taking orders for these two models through a new Thai configurator.

All the variants of Model 3 and Model Y are available to book. Tesla will sell its EVs only via online channels. The base price of the two models in Thailand are:

  • Model 3- ฿1,759,000 ($48,500)
  • Model Y- ฿1,959,000 ($71,000)

The company has not announced the delivery dates. It is expected that deliveries will start early next year.

Chinese EV manufacturer BYD will be Tesla’s biggest competitor in the country. In November, BYD officially started sales of BYD ATTO 3 in Thailand. BYD also announced the construction of its first overseas passenger vehicle plant in Thailand. Recently at the Thailand International Motor Expo, BYD displayed seven of its EVs- ATTO 3, Tang EV, Han EV, Qin Plus DM-i, Song Plus DM-i, Dolphin, and Seal.
