Tata Power to install 1500 EV charging stations in Maharashtra.

Tata Power will install EV charging stations on highways and expressways linking Mumbai to Pune, Nashik, Goa, and other places.

Tata Power announced that it would set up 1500 EV charging stations in Maharashtra, majorly focusing on highways and expressways. The company will install charging stations on the Mumbai-Pune expressway, Mumbai-Goa highway, Mumbai-Nashik highway, and on roads to Mahabaleshwar and Shirdi. Currently, there are 17 EV charging stations on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

Tata Power will install chargers at petrol pumps and food courts located on the highway so that it would be easy for the passengers to rest while their EV is charging. It will reduce the range anxiety of the users, and they will travel from one city to another in their EV.

Tata Power is also focussing on green energy. Last month, the company announced that it installed 150 green energy-powered EV charging stations across Mumbai.

These EV charging stations are installed in residential societies, malls, commercial complexes, and petrol pumps. Renewable/Clean energy sources like wind, hydropower, and solar powers these charging stations.

This project comes under the ‘Do Green‘ initiative, which encourages people to embrace green and clean energy solutions in their day-to-day life.
