Tata Motors signs MoU with EC Wheels India to supply 1000 XPRES T EVs.
Tata Motors claims that this order from EC Wheels India is the biggest ever EV fleet order in the eastern region of India.
Tata Motors today announced its partnership with EC Wheels India Pvt. Ltd. to deploy 1,000 XPRES T Electric sedans for cab transportation. EC Wheels India is a Kolkata-based urban transportation service provider.
Tata Motors claims that this order is the biggest ever EV fleet order in the eastern region of India. Tata Motors also said that it would commence deliveries in phases.
EC Wheels India aims to create a large EV mobility ecosystem in Eastern India. The company believes that this partnership will help it to rapidly expand electrification in the eastern regions of India and work towards providing sustainable mobility solutions to the customers.
Sharing his views on the occasion, Mr. Ramesh Dorairajan, Senior General Manager – Network Management & EV Sales of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, said: Tata Motors has always been focusing on the faster adoption of EVs in the mobility space, helping grow India’s e-mobility market. Tata Motors launched the XPRES-T exclusively for fleet customers in July 2021. This electric sedan comes with two range options – 213km and 165km. It supports fast charging. 0-80% of the battery can be charged in 90 minutes.
It comes with zero tail-pipe emission, single-speed automatic transmission, dual airbags, and ABS with EBD as standard across variants.
In June this year, Tata Motors got the biggest EV fleet order from BluSmart Electric Mobility. Tata Motors signed an agreement with the Gurugram-based electric cab company to deliver 10,000 units of its electric car -Xpres T EV in June 2022.
