Polestar 3 SUV to be built in the United States.

Besides launching Polestar 3, the company is also scaling its retail spaces and launching a certified pre-owned program to cater to the growing EV market.

Polestar Automotive USA, the electric performance brand, has recently unveiled its latest addition to its line-up, the Polestar 3, an SUV designed to cater specifically to the North American market. The vehicle will be manufactured in South Carolina and is set to become the second phase of company’s commercial growth, following a record year of sales and deliveries in 2022.

The Polestar 3, which doubles the brand’s model range, boasts class-leading technology combined with a beautiful design. Among its features are a Dolby ATMOS sound experience with 25 Bowers & Wilkins speakers, the first generational update to Google’s native infotainment system, and LiDAR from Luminar. The SUV will also be the first vehicle to be delivered with Luminar’s technology, which will help prepare for future autonomous driving.

In preparation for the launch of the Polestar 3, the brand’s network of retail “Spaces” has expanded, with 28 locations currently in operation across the United States. The company plans to develop the network to approximately 40 Retail Spaces by the end of the year, which will geographically cater to 77% of the addressable EV market.

The Polestar 3 was unveiled with coast-to-coast events in North America, emphasizing the importance of the North American market to the brand. The SUV has been tailor-made for the market, and its introduction is expected to further boost company’s sales and growth.

The brand’s commitment to advanced technology and sustainable driving is reflected in the Polestar 3’s features, which aim to provide a premium driving experience while also prioritizing the environment. The use of Luminar’s LiDAR technology in the vehicle is particularly notable, as it is a key step towards developing fully autonomous driving capabilities.

Prior to the introduction of the new SUV, the flagship product for the company remains the award-winning Polestar 2 electric performance fastback. To maintain its position as a leading contender in the market, the Polestar 2 will receive significant mechanical updates for the 2024 model year, including new and more powerful motors, a larger battery, and faster charging capabilities. These updates will enhance the vehicle’s range and performance, setting it apart from competitors in an increasingly crowded segment. The Polestar 2 also qualifies for the IRA Clean Vehicle credit of $7,500 on lease transactions, making it an appealing option for customers.

Another factor contributing to the company’s growth is the inclusion of pre-owned vehicles in its commercial offering. With the expected trade-in of early Polestar 2 cars for the Polestar 3 and updated 2024 Polestar 2, the company plans to launch a best-in-class Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program in June. This program will provide customers with value and peace of mind, particularly those who are not in the market for a new vehicle. These CPO cars will be virtually identical to the 2023 Polestar 2 currently on sale, as they are capable of receiving remote software upgrades “over the air.”
