OSM inaugurates a new electric three-wheeler manufacturing plant in Faridabad.

OSM has made an initial investment of Rs 75 crores to set up the new plant in Faridabad. It will invest another 150 crores in the next three years to increase the manufacturing capacity.

Omega Seiki Mobility ( OSM ) today announced the opening of a new integrated manufacturing facility for electric three-wheelers in Faridabad, Haryana. This is OSM’s third manufacturing plant in Faridabad.

The new plant is made with an initial investment of ₹75 crores and has an annual manufacturing capacity of 15,000 electric three-wheelers. OSM will invest another ₹150 crores in the next three years to increase the manufacturing capacity to 50,000 units.

OSM will manufacture its Cargo Electric Vehicle Range: Rage+, Rage+ Rapid, Rage+ Frost, and Rage+ Swap and Electric Passenger Vehicle Stream at the Faridabad Facility. This plant will also give employment to around 300 people.

OSM already had two manufacturing plants in the Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Faridabad. The first facility manufactures electric cargo vehicle ranges with a production capacity of 7200 EVs per annum and also is the OSM India R&D center. The second manufacturing facility at IMT, Faridabad, produces electric two-wheelers with an annual capacity of 12000 vehicles per annum.

Speaking on the launch of the New Manufacturing Unit in Faridabad, Mr. Uday Narang, Founder, and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, said: As the forerunners of electric mobility in India, Omega Seiki Mobility, with the launch of its third facility in Faridabad, Haryana marks another important landmark for Omega Seiki Mobility commitment to growing our business in India. We have an order book of 50,000 plus cargo electric three-wheelers. We have set up this facility to meet the growing demand of the market. I want to thank the government of Haryana; the government has been extremely supportive.

With the opening of this plant, OSM now has five manufacturing plants across India. Last month in June, OSM started production at its Pune plant. Made with an investment of ₹ 40 crores, the Chakan, Pune plant has an annual production capacity of 6000 electric three-wheelers.

OSM is also building two more manufacturing units in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Its upcoming plant in Karnataka will be the world’s largest electric three-wheeler plant, producing 1 million electric three-wheelers annually.
