NaaS Technology Inc. Launches Revolutionary Automatic Charging Robot for EVs.

NaaS Technology Inc, one of China’s leading electric vehicle charging service providers, has recently unveiled its first self-developed automatic charging robot. The new robot is designed to meet the increasing demand for mobile charging of electric vehicles, particularly as the market for self-driving vehicles continues to grow. With the advent of autonomous driving, compatible automatic charging robots will become an essential piece of infrastructure, creating a new charging experience and opening up a massive market for smart charging.

The charging robot is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including deep learning, 5G, V2X, simultaneous localization and mapping, and other underlying technologies. It is waterproof and shock-proof, making it ideal for outdoor use. The robot comes with a range of features, including active vehicle locating, smart charging, and automatic payment settlement, making it a comprehensive solution for electric vehicle owners.

During an automatic charging session, the robot uses mechanical arms to dock with the ports of EVs and complete the charging and settlement processes in one go. The one-click ordering feature, active vehicle locating, precise self-parking, automatic docking and undocking, and automatic return and recharging functions make the charging experience effortless for EV owners. The charging robot is available in various charging power and battery capacity configurations and can connect with major OEMs seamlessly through an open API.

At present, the automatic charging robot can connect with an electric vehicle’s system via its API interface. If the vehicle’s battery power is insufficient, the robot will automatically search for the vehicle. Upon approaching the EV, the robot’s independently developed mechanical arm can accurately detect the charging port’s position, completing the automatic plugging and unplugging of the charging gun. This results in a seamless and unmanned charging operation.

Looking ahead, self-driving vehicles will benefit from the interconnectivity of data between the vehicle and robot, along with the mechanical arm’s automatic operation. This will enable autonomous recharging. Furthermore, the automatic charging technology with the robotic arm can be integrated with charging piles to provide automatic and unmanned charging services. EV owners will have the option to enjoy additional value-added services such as shopping, dining, and massages around the charging stations.

The charging robot developed by NaaS Technology Inc. is a result of the hard work of the company’s Automatic Energy Replenishment Solution team. This team includes former employees of globally recognized car manufacturers and technology companies, such as Bosch and BMW, who possess deep expertise and experience in robotics, autonomous driving, industrial automation technology, software algorithms, sensors, and other related areas.

NaaS Technology Inc. is the first EV charging service provider in China to be listed on NASDAQ. As of December 31, 2022, the company had already connected over 515,000 chargers. Additionally, NaaS has obtained more than 100 patents for its charging services, mobile charging devices, and integrated PV-storage charging station solutions, both domestically and overseas.
