MINI launches limited edition all-electric Cooper SE convertible.

MINI will make only 999 units of the convertible Cooper SE. It will be available in Europe from April 2023.

MINI has officially launched the all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible. The convertible Cooper SE was presented as an idea in July 2022 and received positive feedback from the public. As a result, the company has decided to move forward with a small series of the all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible.

Starting in April 2023, the MINI Cooper SE Convertible will be available in Europe in a limited production run of only 999 vehicles.

The dimensions of the convertible Cooper SE are 3,850 mm x 1,727 mm x 1,427 mm. The wheelbase is 2,495 mm long, and the luggage compartment has 160 l load volume. It is equipped with a 135 kW/184 hp electric motor, which comes from the BMW Group’s electric mobility competence centres in Dingolfing and Landshut. The electric drive accelerates the MINI Cooper SE Convertible from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. The WLTP range is 201 km.

The MINI Cooper SE Convertible comes in two colour options, Enigmatic Black and White Silver. The car has Resolute Bronze accents on the door handles, side scuttles, and front and rear light surrounds. The elegant Piano Black finish is applied to the company’s logos and model lettering for a sleek and cohesive look.

To emphasize the locally emission-free driving experience, the E logo from the MINI Cooper SE is prominently displayed on both the front apron and rear of the vehicle. Door sill trims and side scuttles are also adorned with edition-specific equipment details, while the “1 of 999″ lettering highlights the exclusivity of this limited-edition open-top car. The 17” cast alloy wheels in Electric Power Spoke 2-tone design are made of 100 percent secondary aluminium and are designed specifically for convertible Cooper SE.

The car comes with comfortable sports seats in the MINI Yours Leather Lounge design, with seat heating and adjustable thigh support for added comfort. The multifunctional sports leather steering wheel, finished in Nappa leather, adds to the car’s fun-to-drive atmosphere and stylish driving comfort, and can also be heated.

The lower steering wheel spoke features the MINI Electric Badge, highlighting the limited edition status of this all-electric convertible. The interior design is highlighted by the exclusive Piano Black surfaces, which can be stylishly set off by ambient lighting, contributing to the car’s exclusive status. Yellow accents, such as the yellow start-stop toggle switch, emphasize the fully electric character of the open-top four-seater.

The cockpit of this limited edition car is equipped with high-quality features, including the eDrive services familiar with the Cooper SE. These services provide the driver with information on current energy consumption, range, and tips for an economical driving style. The essential information is conveniently displayed on the Head-Up Display while driving. For added comfort during long journeys, the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, along with the Driving Assistant and other features, enhance the driving experience of this limited Convertible with standard all-electric drive.

Stefanie Wurst, Head of the MINI Brand, said: Three years ago we launched the all-electric MINI Cooper SE, and today one in five MINI sold in Europe is an all-electric MINI. This success has spurred us to implement the small series of the MINI Cooper SE Convertible within only a few months. I’m delighted that we can offer 999 MINI customers an extraordinary and exclusive open-air go-kart feeling.
