Mercedes-Benz reports strong EV sales in Q1 2023 in the USA and Canada.

EV lineup of Mercedes-Benz, including EQS Sedan, EQS SUV, EQB, and EQE Sedan, drives sales growth; EQB leads entry-level EV sales with a 64% QoQ increase.

Mercedes-Benz today reported Q1 2023 sales in USA and Canada. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) has reported strong sales for the first quarter of 2023, driven by the sustained demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and top-end models. According to the company, it sold 61,531 Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the United States during the first quarter of 2023.

MBUSA has recently introduced five electric models in its lineup, including the EQS Sedan, EQS SUV, EQB, EQE Sedan, and EQE SUV. The company’s strategy of expanding its EV offerings seems to be paying off, as it saw a 64% increase in sales of the entry-level EQB model in Q1 2023, with 1,537 units sold.

In addition, MBUSA’s top-end models, which include luxury SUVs and sedans, saw a growth of 18% in Q1, with a total of 24,572 vehicles sold. The fully electric EQS SUV recorded 2,413 unit sales during the same period, while the EQE Sedan attracted 1,308 new customers.

The company expects to strengthen its position in the luxury SUV market with the upcoming all-electric Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV and the all-new EQE SUV, which will be built in Alabama. These models are expected to further boost sales and solidify MBUSA’s position in the rapidly growing EV market.

In Canada, Mercedes-Benz delivered sales of 7,832 passenger vehicles and vans (-1.3% compared to Q1 2022), while setting a new benchmark for Mercedes-EQ sales.

In Q1 2023, Mercedes-Benz Canada set a new quarterly sales record for Mercedes-EQ vehicles. Led by the EQB SUV (136 units retailed), the company retailed a total of 332 Mercedes-EQ units, with major growth expected throughout the year as more models become available and additional inventory enters the market.
