Maruti Suzuki launches the Grand Vitara SUV with hybrid powertrains.

With its hybrid powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara offers a best-in-class mileage of around 28 km/l.

Maruti Suzuki launched the Grand Vitara SUV today. It is available in two powertrain options, one with Intelligent Electric Hybrid system and the other with Progressive Smart Hybrid system.

The intelligent electric hybrid variant offers best-in-class fuel efficiency of 27.97 km/l. It has a strong self-charging hybrid powertrain and multiple drive modes (EV, Eco, Power, and Normal). It produces a max torque of 122Nm @ 4400-4800 rpm.

The other variant with a mild hybrid system also has an AWD option. It has a 1.5 l next-gen K series dual jet engine and a progressive smart hybrid technology. The fuel efficiency of this vehicle is up to 21.11 km/l.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is equipped with Next-gen technologies. It has a colored head-up display that offers important information in the driver’s line of sight. It shows information like turn-by-turn navigation, speed, RPM, fuel economy, and other important notifications.

The SUV has a 9-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system with an HD display that offers an intuitive user interface for a seamless connected driving experience. The other features are In-built voice assistance, Wireless Car Play & Android Auto, Wireless charger, etc. With the Suzuki Connect Mobile App, users can unlock over 40 features.

The front seats of the Grand Vitara are ventilated to offer a cool and comfortable drive.

This hybrid SUV is built on the Suzuki TECT platform (Global C-platform)and is secured with the NEXA Safety Shield. There are six airbags in the SUV( Front, Side, and curtain). Features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, 3-point ELR seat belts, and Rear disc brake come standard across all variants.

It will be offered in six variants - Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+. There are six monotone colour options, and three Dual-tone color options are available.

Maruti has co-developed this SUV with Toyota. It will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi plant in Karnataka. The production of the car will start in August, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in September this year.

The price of the car will be revealed in September, but it is expected that the starting price will be less than Rs 10 lakhs.
