Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has made a major push into the electric vehicle market in India, announcing the installation of its ultra-fast public EV charging stations across key highways and cities. The first two charging stations have been installed across the Hyderabad-Vijayawada and Delhi-Chandigarh highways, with each station comprised of one DC 150 kW ultra-fast charger and one DC 60 kW high-speed charger.

Hyundai is offering a cost-effective electric vehicle driving experience with its new charging stations, which come with an attractive charging tariff. To provide added convenience, these stations are installed in locations that are equipped with customer amenities such as coffee shops and restaurants. Furthermore, 24/7 assistance is available from trained marshals, ensuring a seamless charging experience for EV users.

The all-electric SUV, Hyundai IONIQ 5, can be fully charged from 10% to 80% in just 21 minutes at these charging stations. Hyundai EV owners can easily locate, pre-book charging slots, and monitor the charging status of their vehicles through the Charger Management System in the myHyundai App.

The charging network is managed and operated by HMIL in partnership with ChargeZone, a leading charge point operator in the industry. Through this partnership, Hyundai aims to provide a seamless and convenient charging experience for its EV customers.

Hyundai is taking concrete steps to increase peace of mind for electric vehicle (EV) customers, with the opening of its first two ultra-fast public EV charging stations on February 1st, 2023. These charging stations are now available to the public and will be followed by further expansion across other highways and cities.

HMIL has plans to establish 10 ultra-fast public charging stations in the first half of CY 2023 and will continue to expand the network to other cities and highways. The company aims to provide comprehensive charging coverage for its EV customers and help facilitate the adoption of EVs in India.
