Hero MotoCorp partners with Zero Motorcycles to develop premium electric motorcycles.

Hero MotoCorp is also an investor in Zero Motorcycles. In September 2022, Hero invested $60 million in Zero Motorcycles.

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has partnered with Zero Motorcycles, a California-based manufacturer of premium electric motorcycles and powertrains, to collaborate on premium electric motorcycles.

This partnership will combine Zero’s expertise in developing powertrains and electric motorcycles with Hero MotoCorp’s scale of manufacturing, sourcing, and marketing. In September 2022, Hero MotoCorp’s Board approved an equity investment of up to US$60 million (491 crores) in Zero Motorcycles, further solidifying their commitment to the partnership.

Zero Motorcycles is a global leader in electric motorcycles and powertrains, with a focus on combining Silicon Valley technology with traditional motorcycle soul to enhance the motorcycling experience for riders around the world. Their motorcycles are designed and crafted in California, reflecting the company’s commitment to quality and innovation.

The collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles marks a significant step towards the mass adoption of electric motorcycles in the global market. As governments around the world push for cleaner and more sustainable modes of transportation, electric motorcycles are increasingly becoming a popular choice for riders.

The company has launched its first EV, the VIDA V1 scooter, under its emerging mobility brand, VIDA, Powered by Hero, and has commenced the operation of its public charging infrastructure in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Jaipur. The company has established close to 300 charging points for public use in the three cities.
