Hero Electric partners with Maxwell Energy Systems for Battery Management Systems.

Maxwell Energy will provide more than one million BMS units over the next three years to Hero Electric to help it meet the increasing demand.

Hero Electric has entered into a long-term agreement with Maxwell Energy Systems, based in Mumbai, for the supply of Battery Management Systems (BMS). Under this partnership, Maxwell will provide more than one million BMS units over the next three years to aid Hero Electric’s plans for rapid expansion.

A Battery Management System (BMS) is used to monitor the performance and safety of a battery. Maxwell has created a new, automotive-safe BMS that is compatible with multiple chemistries and configurations to suit the entire range of Hero Electric’s e2W vehicles.

It has been designed to adhere to the recent AIS-156 regulations and employs proprietary algorithms, developed and refined by Maxwell over the past five years, for precise state estimations of SoC, SoH, SoP, and SoE. Furthermore, it has additional technical features such as high-side switching and hot-plugging for easy swapping.

Hero Electric and Maxwell will also collaborate on a new, advanced line of electronic products for India’s EV market.

Recently, Hero Electric also partnered with Gurugram-based Exicom for Battery Management Systems. Hero Electric intends to purchase 5 Lakh units of BMS per annum from Exicom.
