Hero Electric launches new and updated version of Optima and NYX.

Hero Electric launched Optima CX5.0, Optima CX2.0, and NYX CX5.0 electric scooters. These scooters fall in the price range of Rs 85,000 - Rs 1,30,000.

Hero Electric, a leading Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced the launch of its latest range of smart, connected electric scooters - the Optima CX5.0, Optima CX2.0, and NYX CX5.0. The company claims that the new range is equipped with advanced features, cutting-edge Japanese motor technology, and German ECU technology, making the scooters suitable for the Indian market’s varied weather conditions.

The Optima CX5.0, which is powered by a 3 kWh C5 Li-ion battery, offers a top speed of 55 km/hr on city roads and a ground clearance of 165 mm. The scooter can be fully charged in up to 3 hours. The Optima CX2.0, which comes with a single battery, offers a driving speed of 48 km/hr and a ground clearance of 165 mm. The vehicle can be fully charged in up to 4.5 hours.

The NYX CX5.0, which draws power from a 3 kWh C5 Li-ion battery, offers a ground clearance of 175 mm and a driving speed of 48 km/hr. The vehicle can be fully charged in 3 hours.

All three scooters come equipped with enhanced safety features, including battery safety alarms, drive mode locks, reverse roll protection, and side stand sensors.

The Hero Electric Comfort and City Speed scooters are priced in the range of Rs 85,000 - Rs 95,000 and Rs 1,05,000 - Rs 1,30,000, respectively. The Optima CX5.0 (Dual-battery) and Optima CX2.0 (Single Battery) are available in Dark Matt Blue and Charcoal Black colors. The NYX CX5.0 is available in Charcoal Black and Pearl White color schemes.

Hero Electric also revealed its ambitious plan to ramp up production to over one million vehicles per year within the next 2-3 years, utilizing its existing manufacturing facilities across the country. In addition, the company is set to establish a greenfield plant in Rajasthan with an annual production capacity of 2 million units, requiring an investment of around Rs 1,200 crore.

Currently, the company is in the process of building a new factory in Ludhiana. The company’s partnership with the Mahindra Group has further expanded its manufacturing capacity, offering an additional 500,000 units per year from a shared facility in Pitampura, Madhya Pradesh.
