GODI India makes the first-ever 3000F high power supercapacitor in India.

GODI India is planning to commission 200 kWh of supercapacitor production facility to cater to various local requirements and export markets.

Hyderabad-based Li-ion cell manufacturer GODI India has manufactured India’s first ever 3000F high power supercapacitor. Integrating these supercapacitors with battery packs would improve the battery life multi-folds in Electric Vehicle (EV) and Renewable Energy Storage System (ESS) applications.

Dr. Milan Jana and Dr. Pushpendra Singh designed and developed these supercapacitors. GODI India has developed a range of supercapacitor products that offer higher power delivery, minimal ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), excellent energy density, better shock and vibration protection, and lakhs of charge-discharge cycles.

Supercapacitors are used in power-smoothening, pitch-control, start-stop, regenerative-braking, smart-grid, active heave compensation, and specialty UPS applications.

The global supercapacitor market will reach USD25 billion by 2030. In India, it is expected that the supercapacitor market will grow by more than 16% CAGR and will reach a valuation of 5 billion by 2027.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Mahesh Godi, Founder and CEO of GODI India, said, “GODI India is producing cost-effective and plant-based Carbon-Carbon supercapacitors using water-based electrode processing. We have a variety of supercapacitor products ranging up to 3000F. At present, we are in the process of developing high-voltage lithium-ion capacitors, as well. We are also working on hybrid capacitors with higher energy densities to replace Lead-Acid batteries in a wide range of applications. These capacitors are environmentally sustainable, green and clean, and highly recyclable.”

He also said GODI is planning to commission 200 kWh of the supercapacitors production facility to cater to various local requirements and export markets. GODI is also keen to develop custom-designed supercapacitor products as per strategic segment requirements and aiming to localize 100% supply chain of supercapacitor manufacturing in the next year.

GODI is also the first Indian company to get the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification to sell its 21700 cylindrical NMC811 lithium-ion cells in India. It manufactures 217000-NMC, 32700-NMC, Prismatic-LFP, and Prismatic-NIB cells. The company will set up its first indigenous giga-factory for Li-Ion cells in India by 2024.

GODI India has partnered with CSIR-CECRI (Central Electrochemical Research Institute) to operate and maintain an advanced Lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility in Taramani, Chennai. Both the companies have entered into a first-of-a-kind public-private partnership for large-scale advanced Lithium-ion cell manufacturing by signing an MoA.
