To make EV usage more convenient, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency of India developed a mobile app called EV Yatra. The app helps users to locate the nearest EV charging station and book a charging slot. The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, launched the app on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day on December 14, 2022.

The app is now available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The EV Yatra app provides real-time information about Public EV Charging Stations, like their GPS coordinates, the type of chargers installed at the station, availability of charging slots, prevailing EV charging tariff, service fees, and any other information.

The app is available in English and Hindi. Users can sign up for the app by providing their vehicle details. It locates charging stations for two, three, and four-wheeler EVs. Users can book the charging slot while on move to the next nearest public charging station.

A charging station will have different types of chargers and different tariff charges based on charger type. The mobile application has an integrated and secured payment gateway to enable EV users to make payments after the completion of the charging session.
