Citroen Unveils eC3 Electric Vehicle for Indian Market.

Bookings of the Citroen eC3 will open on January 22, and the car will be available in showrooms next month. Price of the car will be announced soon.

French automaker Citroen has unveiled its first all-electric vehicle for the Indian market, the eC3. The new EV will be available in two variants – Live and Feel, and bookings will open on January 22. Showrooms will have the vehicle available next month.

The eC3 is powered by a 29.2 kWh battery pack and a 3.3 kW onboard AC charger, which powers a front-mounted electric motor that develops 56 BHP and 143 Nm torque. The eC3 can accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 107 km/h. It has an ARAI-certified range of 320 km. Charging the battery using a home charger takes 10.5 hours, but it only takes 57 minutes to charge from 10-80% using a DC fast charger.

The eC3 looks identical to its ICE counterpart and comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a four-speaker audio system, height adjustable driver’s seat, and over 35 connected car features. Safety features include dual airbags and ABS with EBD.

Citroen is offering a 3-year / 1,25,000 km warranty on the eC3, a 7-year / 1,40,000 km warranty on the battery pack, and a 5-year / 1,00,000 km warranty on the motor. The price of the car will be announced soon.

Recently, Citroen India joined hands with Jio-bp to develop EV charging infrastructure and services throughout India. As a part of this partnership, Jio-bp will roll out DC fast chargers at Citroen’s key dealership locations and workshops in stages. These chargers will be available to all EV car owners to increase EV adoption among consumers.
