BYD celebrates its 16 years in India.

On the occasion of its 16th anniversary in India, BYD announced that it has delivered over 700 units of ATTO 3 E-SUVs in India.

BYD India, the subsidiary of the world’s leading New Energy Vehicle manufacturer, is marking its 16th anniversary in India. Over the past 16 years, the company has played a significant role in accelerating NEV adoption in the country and has witnessed the delivery of over 700 units of ATTO 3 to multiple cities across India.

BYD India has introduced a series of EV models and technologies to India, including India’s first premium electric MPV, the All-New e6, and India’s first sporty Born E-SUV, ATTO 3, which is equipped with the revolutionary Ultra-safe Blade Battery and exclusively designed e-Platform 3.0 for the next generation of EVs.

With continued cultivation in India, BYD has promoted the development of the local EV market. The company has also introduced EVs to fields such as Material Handling Equipment, public sector transport, heavy-duty trucks, and more.

Today, the operating volume of buses equipped with BYD powertrains and batteries has exceeded over 1,000 units, and orders for the electric heavy-duty truck Q1R have surpassed 600 units, solidifying the company’s leading position in this niche segment.

Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicles of BYD India, said, “We are happy to celebrate this milestone. As of February, we have delivered over 700 units of ATTO 3s to various cities in just two months and have received very positive response from customers. We believe more and more customers will choose our premium electric SUV. As always, we are fully committed to the market, our customers, and our dealer network.”

Currently, BYD has over 2,000 employees in Chennai and the company has showrooms across 21 cities with 24 outlets across the country. BYD aims to expand to 53 outlets by the end of 2023. BYD will continue the endeavor to leverage technological innovations for a better life, providing Indian customers with diversified EV products and implementing its “Cool the Earth by 1°C” initiative.
