The heads of state and government from the world’s most important industrialised nations gathered at Schloss Elmau in Upper Bavaria, Germany, on 26 – 28 June 2022, for the latest G7 summit.

The BMW Group provided a shuttle service for the event. BMW added an all-electric vehicle for the first time in its high-security fleet. The shuttle fleet included the brand new electric car BMW i7 xDrive60.

The presence of the BMW i7 in the fleet allowed the assembled dignitaries to experience the immense driving comfort and futuristic ambience of the electrically powered sedan a full five months before its global launch, said BMW in a press release.

Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, said: We will continue this tradition in 2023 with a high-security vehicle combining the dynamic prowess, ride comfort and interior comfort of the new BMW 7 Series with an integrated protection concept that is unique in this segment. And we will also introduce an all-electric high-security vehicle for the first time – with no comprises when it comes to the standard of protection for our customers. It will be based on the BMW i7, demonstrating how sustainability and security can go hand in hand.
