AutoGrid Launches AI-Powered Solution to Manage EV Charging and Distributed Energy Resources.

AutoGrid Flex EV empowers utilities with unmatched access to EV charging data and advanced analytics for cost-effective grid operations.

AutoGrid, a leading provider of Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Solutions (DERMS), has announced the launch of its latest product, AutoGrid Flex EV. This AI solution is designed to enable cleaner, more reliable, and cost-effective grid operations and has been built on the AutoGrid Flex platform.

AutoGrid Flex EV aims to harness the company’s more than 10 years of experience in managing electric vehicles (EVs) and other distributed energy resources (DERs). It also utilizes the broadest network of automotive, charging, and device providers. As EV sales are projected to exceed 50 percent of total auto sales by 2030, utilities are facing both a rapid rise in electricity demand and an enormous opportunity to tap flexible capacity.

AutoGrid Flex EV has made several significant advances in this innovative technology, including:

  • Implementing multi-channel marketing strategies to effectively scale customer recruitment efforts.
  • Providing unrivaled prosumer engagement through the use of AutoGrid’s consumer portal, which streamlines customer enrollment, impact tracking, and incentives.
  • Offering the broadest access to assets, including EV telematics and EV charging, for various charging locations such as residential, workplace, multifamily, and fleet charging.
  • Utilizing state-of-the-art analytics dashboards to monitor and visualize charging behavior across a utility customer’s territory.
  • Demonstrating significant experience in managed charging, advanced optimization, and load shifting at scale.
  • Offering feeder/transformer-based visualization, optimization, and dispatch for more efficient grid management.
  • Providing leading vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging capabilities.

AutoGrid has demonstrated the successful deployment of a previous iteration of its Flex EV solution at multiple utilities across North America and globally. This was made possible through AutoGrid’s extensive network of EV and EVSE vendors, such as Chargepoint, Wallbox, and SWTCH Energy.

AutoGrid’s launch of Flex EV reinforces Schneider Electric’s dedication to promoting a new energy landscape that is more flexible and resilient. This latest solution complements Schneider Electric’s recent introduction of Schneider Home, which is a unique integrated home energy management solution. Together, these offerings demonstrate Schneider Electric’s commitment to developing a “prosumer to grid” portfolio, which supports both utility customers and utilities.

Ruben Llanes, AutoGrid CEO, said: More than 10 years ago, the first DER that AutoGrid connected was an EV charger, and we’ve been leading in this space ever since. Utilities need to plan for EV penetration, forecast, and shape load, and harness the power of this mobile storage capacity and V2G when and where it’s needed most. AutoGrid’s new EV solution is a quantum leap for decarbonization and democratization of the grid.
