Ather inaugurates a new manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.

With the new manufacturing plant, the production capacity of Ather has increased to 420,000 units per annum.

Ather Energy inaugurated its second manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. With the new plant, Ather’s production capacity has increased to 420,000 units per annum. Increased production capacity will help the company to fulfill the increasing demand.

Ather’s new manufacturing plant is spread over 300,000 sq.ft. The plant is divided into two units - one for battery production and the other for electric scooter assembly. The battery unit will have five assembly lines, and the vehicle assembly will have two assembly lines.

Ather established its manufacturing plant in Hosur because most of its supplier base is in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Karnataka. The new plant will further boost local manufacturing in the country.

The new state-of-the-art facility has been enabled with Industry 4.0 to manufacture vehicles with world-class quality. The company will bring together data from testing and simulation, Process, and field to manufacture the Ather 450X and 450 Plus.

Ather is also expanding its retail network and fast-charging infrastructure across the country. The company plans to expand to around 150 Experience Centers in 100 cities by March 2023. Recently the company achieved the milestone of installing 500 fast-charging stations across the country and plans to install 1400 Ather Grids by the end of FY23 to support the growth of the EV industry and facilitate a hassle-free transition to EVs.
