Allego to install up to 1,500 public fast charging points for EVs across Germany.

Allego has partnered with the porta Group, a renowned furniture store chain, to install charging points at 123 porta Group locations across Germany by the end of 2024.

Allego N.V., a prominent European public electric vehicle fast and ultrafast charging network, has joined forces with the porta Group, a renowned furniture store chain. The two entities have announced an ambitious plan to install a total of 1,500 charging points at 123 porta Group locations across the country by the end of 2024.

These charging stations will be capable of providing both fast charging, at 50 kW, and ultra-fast charging, at 150 kW. Already, the first fast-charging stations have been successfully deployed at three porta locations: Potsdam, Altenburg, and Markranstädt. Furthermore, porta Group’s headquarters has been equipped with semi-public ultra-fast charging stations, catering not only to employees but also to visiting EV drivers.

To ensure that the charging network remains future-proof and can accommodate increasing demand, the charging points are designed to be upgraded to ultra-fast charging capabilities later on. This forward-looking approach demonstrates Allego and porta Group’s commitment to supporting the transition to electric mobility and providing convenient charging solutions for EV owners.

The charging facilities will be accessible to all visitors at porta Group locations, as well as EV drivers passing through. To locate the charging stations, Allego’s Smoov app, as well as other third-party charging apps, can be used. This user-friendly approach aims to simplify the charging experience and enhance accessibility for EV users.

By leveraging porta Group’s extensive network of furniture stores, Allego will significantly expand its charging infrastructure throughout Germany. The strategic placement of charging points at porta locations will offer EV drivers the opportunity to charge their vehicles while engaging in other activities, such as shopping or dining, creating a seamless and convenient experience.
